“Love your spirited child for who she is. Because she is more, she will make you more.” ~Mary Seedy Kurcinka, Raising Your Spirited Child.
You sat down for a couple of hours straight and finished these puzzles on your own. Some of them were quite challenging for your age. You got frustrated often. You asked for help but you also asserted your desire to do this by yourself to the people who tried to help you. You never gave up. Next time I get frustrated with your persistent requests, I will try to remember the look on your face when you finished all these puzzles on your own, in a single sitting. Next time I am at the point of loosing my calm with you, I will remember to walk away from you and pull up this picture to remind me yet again of your own unique place in this world and the higher purpose with which you came into this world wired in a certain way. I will remind myself yet again that my job is not to tame your spirit that is throbbing with its own signature (Dr Tsabary’s beautiful words), but to nourish it with my unconditional love and unwavering support. Thank you for being you. More importantly, thank you for your role in making me ME 🙏🏼
