A great holiday read that aligns well with the empathy and giving theme that we have been trying to incorporate into our family read-alouds this month. Audrey Wood is easily becoming one of my favorite children’s book authors after reading her Napping House, Elbert’s Bad Word and King Bidgood’s in the Bath Tub, all of which were fun read-alouds with my 4 year olds. .
This is another sweet story with an underlying message of kindness. The illustrations are bright and engaging. Little mouse’s expressions in this book are heart warming. Overall, a fun holiday-themed Picture Book. What makes this even more fun for me personally is the fact that I found this gently used hardcover book in my library’s used books section and paid a dollar to make it ours. Need I say that libraries are AMAZING?
