I absolutely love this book. It’s a non-fiction book filled with facts about elephants. The author, Katya Arnold, goes to Thailand every year to teach elephants to paint so that they can earn their own livelihood. This book has beautiful real life pictures of elephants holding paint brushes and painting with their trunks.
I picked this book on a whim from the library. I was looking at the Fly Guy series books and this one was right next to them. The title and the cover picture caught my attention immediately. As a lover of art and books (and elephants), I found this book to be delightful. My boys were also fully engaged in it. They were inspired by the picture of elephant painting flowers and asked to do a painting project with me. I have a few ideas in my head about a fall-themed art project to do with my kids. Can’t wait!
