Honing up math and science skills by cutting strawberries and making a no-bake father’s day cake: We went strawberry picking this weekend and got a whole bunch of strawberries home. My 3 year old twin boys help me clean and freeze some of those strawberries for the winter months. We played a math game where they each cut up one strawberry into two pieces, then four pieces and then eight pieces. They also took turns to wash the strawberries, dry them and bag them for the freezer.
Their big sister chose to make a strawberry sauce for a no-bake chocolate cake that she made for her father and grandfather for father’s day. Her brothers also helped her measure and mix the ingredients to make the cake. What a fun way to learn math and science while also learning to help each other out as a family and connect with each other! Yes, I had a messy kitchen at the end of this despite their attempts to clean up but it was worth the effort as far as I am concerned ❤️
