Children’s Picture Book from India: Mama’s Saris by Pooja Makhijani

This is a sweet story about a little girl who is fascinated by her mother’s saris and wants to try them on. It gives a glimpse into the Indian culture to little kids. I used to read this to my daughter when she was around 5 years old. My boys found this book in their sister’s shelf and asked me to read it to them. I am planning to skip some text here and there and read a condensed version to them soon. I am also planning to show them a sari and have them touch it. The illustrations are beautiful. The author included an introduction in the beginning of the book which could be helpful to parents who are not familiar with a sari. I am always looking for books from various countries around the world to read to my kids. I am glad that my boys sought this one on their own ❤️
